Presidents will review an example bylaws template to further understand and govern under the terms of the affiliate bylaws determined by their affiliate. Also, discussions around how do presidents deal with transition and workloads with other board members. An audit exercise will also be done to see where they are at and where they need to go. This will help identify needs and areas of help for presidents.
Affiliate board members that are not presidents will participate in unconference style discussions that are self selected prior/during the event in parallel to the president workshops. These topics can be related to what other officers/directors do in their roles to share the challenges, ideas and action steps each other face in their roles. Topics do not have to be role specific, they can be specific in common issues affiliates face.

Presidents will continue during the morning learning about how to incorporate Roberts Rules of Order, bylaws, governing, event planning, and other areas of supervision for the affiliate. This session will also cover setting up a Google domain and social media marketing tips. Affiliate resources will also be presented.

CUE leadership will share with the affiliates all the cool things that have happened this year and share more favorite things that are coming for affiliate support. Make sure you do not miss this time as there will be some good and important information shared that all affiliates will be walking away with.
In a whole group setting all the affiliates will learn what are bylaws, what needs to be in them and how to govern by those bylaws. Another area of feedback is how do we transition from one board member to another with ease. John will cover how he has dealt with transition and made the process not interrupt the business of the affiliate.
Events are the heart of the planning that affiliates do through the year. Whether you are planning CoffeeCUE, small meetups, workshops or your largest event, they are all different and how you plan, research and put into action are different. CUE’s Director of Affiliate Engagement will share good approaches to planning these different kinds of events.
We are taking a fun brain break and see what we know so far when it comes to affiliate business, current events, geography, pop-culture etc. Affiliates will compete against each other for some cool prizes.
Find out how you can market your brand via social media from CUE’s Director of Member Engagement using key phrases, asset building with ease to use in your email and social media communication to market your event. Also how do you bring awareness to your events by directly communicating to districts and schools.
